the victory banner

this powerful symbol of connection between earth and sky will be our inspiration, as we travel on this extraordinary alpine route.

the victory banner is an ancient symbol for the tree of life, connecting the physical, material world with the invisible spiritual reality. In its vertical form, it seperates the two spheres of heaven and earth. at the same time it connects and merges the female life-force associated with the earth, and the male life-energy of the sky [inspired from: r. högger, presents for buddha, tibet-institute rikon 2018 (english edition to be published in oct 2019 with vajra publications].

recommended extension

+ 6 days  |  + 14 days

once you reach chukkung in imja valley, you are in the main everest region. being wondefully acclimatized from the high passes, it is highly recommended, landscape and scenery-wise, to continue the three-passes trek, passing kongma la to lobuche, cho la to gokyo, and renjo la to thame. from there, either head back in two easy days to lukla and fly out.

or take the challenge of crossing the rewarding tashi laptsa pass (5700m) to complete this breathtaking journey accross the himalaya’s highest passes, reaching the high valley of rolwaling from the east.

contact me to discuss details on route, timing, costs if you are interested. I am more than happy to help arrange and accompany you on this extension.
